What is a meditation space?

A meditation space is a specific room or area in your home dedicated to spiritual, mindful practices. This room is your own personal retreat where all negative energies must be left beyond the threshold.

The sacred space is a special realm that temporarily separates you from the rest of the world. You can use this room for different purposes such as meditation, reading, and yoga. I would also use this space as a quiet room for journaling.

As a part of your normal self-care routine, use your sacred space when you need to work on divination for spiritual healing. This can be in the morning before work or in the evening before you go to bed.

I believe that your meditation area should reflect the positive energy you desire.

Do you enjoy taking relaxing baths?

If so, the bathroom would be a perfect area to turn into one of your sacred spaces. You could decorate the room with plants, and powerful crystals. For extra energy, add images of deities or ancestors.

Now, I want to point out that meditation is something that is done inside the mind. There are no tools that will work miracles for you because healing and manifesting are mental.

Different tools such as cushions, statues, and candles only help set the mood and relax the mind. If you have trouble focusing or sticking to your spiritual practice, I highly recommend creating a sacred space.

Floor Cushions

Meditation requires one to be as comfortable as possible. If you aren’t comfortable, you will more likely have issues reaching a meditative state because your focus will instead be on adjusting your body.

Having a floor cushion or pillow takes the headache of fidgeting away and allows you to dive deep into your practice.

Amazon has a great selection of comfortable floor cushions that can be used for meditation and yoga. They offer different patterns on both round and square floor pillows.

Essential oils and Oil Burners

One of my absolute favorite tools to help calm down and drift into complete relaxation is essential oils. Essential oils are used in aromatherapy, a holistic method used to help heal the mind, body, and spirit.

Aromatherapy has been used for thousands of years by ancient cultures and has been on the rise ever since.

There are so many different scents that you have no reason to not be able to find the perfect matches for your own sacred space. Some popular choices include lavender, cedar wood, peppermint, and frankincense.

Lavender essential oil is great for relaxation and for inducing sleep. You could create a blend of lavender and cedar wood for a nice evening meditation before bed.

Of course, if you would like to scent your entire meditation room, you could use an oil burner or diffuser to assist. The Ultrasonic Diffuser is a popular choice and comes with a set of 10 different essential oils. This diffuser also features ambient lighting to add more to the experience.

Salt Lamps

Salt lamps are carved from Himalayan rock salt and omit a warm glow. They provide many benefits such as improved sleep, relief from allergies, and have been said to remove pollutants from the air by attracting toxic particles to the surface. (Read more about Himalayan Salt Lamps: WebMd)

I personally have owned a large salt lamp for a few years now and I must say that it was one of the best purchases I have ever made.

Tibetan Singing Bowls

Sound healing, along with aromatherapy, has been used for a very long time by many ancient civilizations. Singing bowls, when played, produce a vibrational tone which is used for sound healing. They come in a variety of sizes and are great for transcending the meditative state.

The Silent Mind store offers a bronze singing bowl set.

Water Fountains

Water fountains are a great tool that is used to bring a piece of nature inside. The sound of the water trickling creates an ambient sound that is quite relaxing.

When you meditate, sometimes it is hard to quiet the mind. To get your practice going, you could focus on the sound of the water flowing in your water fountain. In no time, you’ll be completely still and one with yourself.

You can find the water fountain above on Amazon by visiting this link: Zen Meditation Indoor Waterfall.
